The Radiation Therapist will work at the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center Villa Maria, an Advanced Radiotherapy Center in Mirabella Eclano, Italy, which offers state-of-the-art radiation therapy and stereotactic radiosurgery with advanced care protocols for oncological diseases, also covered by the Italian National Health System.

Under the direction of the radiation oncologist, the Radiation Therapist will administer radiation treatments to patients and perform simulations while ensuring patient comfort and reproducibility of treatment. The Radiation Therapist will also be responsible for providing the plan of care based on the acquired images. The Radiation Therapist will collaborate with the multidisciplinary team (radiation oncologist, physicist, and nurse) in managing patients during their treatment, and provide patient education along the different stages of the care pathway.

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • University degree of “Tecnico Sanitario di Radiologia Medica” [Radiation Therapist] recognized in Italy, or equivalent title under the current laws.
  • Enrollment in the professional board.
  • BLSD certificate.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Varian linear accelerators and network, including the ECLIPSE planning system;
  • Knowledge of the BrainLab ExacTrac Imaging/positioning verification system;
  • Ability to solve the most common technical problems related to the equipment.

Other requisites: The ideal candidate has a good knowledge of the English language and main MS-Office applications, in addition to teamwork and stress management skills.

The workplace is the Province of Avellino.

Compliance with mandatory vaccination for the prevention of SARS-CoV-2 infection referred to in art. 4 and 4-ter of Decree 44/2021 (without prejudice to unenforceability of the vaccination obligation resulting from a confirmed risk for personal health due to specific, documented clinical conditions reported by the general practitioner, in compliance with the memorandum issued by the Italian Ministry of Health on exemptions from the vaccine against SARS-CoV-2 obligation, as provided for by art. 4, para. 2, Decree-law 44/2021) is required to take part in this selection.
