ISMETT Clinical Pharmacy Director appointed board member of EAHP

Piera Polidori, Director, ISMETT Clinical Pharmacy and member of the governing council of SIFO [Italian Society of Hospital Pharmacy] was appointed member of the board of the European Association of Hospital Pharmacists (EAHP).

“We are proud to have an Italian representative again in the EAHP board after many years,” said Simona Serao Creazzola, President of SIFO. “We are confident this will create new opportunities and synergies for the scientific society and for all Italian pharmacists.”

Piera Polidori holds a Degree in Pharmacy from the University of Urbino and has an outstanding international experience at the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy. Piera Polidori is associate editor for the European Journal of Hospital Pharmacy (BMJ Journals).

“I am happy and honored to be part of the EAHP Board together with such prestigious colleagues,” commented Piera Polidori after her appointing was announced.

“My entire career has always been oriented towards an international scenario: my collaboration with UPMC, with the European Society of Clinical Pharmacy (ESCP) Board, and leading the SIFO-EAHP delegation for many years. With EAHP I will continue the work already started with the implementation of the European Statements of Hospital Pharmacy, sharing excellence in hospital pharmacy, supporting an exchange of skills focusing on professional growth. Right now EAPH is committed in many important topics such as the lack of medications, the European Falsified Medicines Directive, and resistance to antibiotics. I hope that through EAPH’s collaboration with many stakeholders, including EMA, ECDC, and EDQM, and with several European and international scientific societies, it will be possible to provide Italian hospital pharmacists a wider international scenario and more and clearer opportunities for professional growth.”
