UPMC Italy provides ongoing educational and training resources to its medical, research, and administrative professionals. Its goal is to contribute to the growth of the national health system by spreading UPMC’s know-how, and becoming a regional and national center of reference for CME, with educational events and continuing education for external health care providers.
Training programs organized, promoted and supported by UPMC Italy involve:

All diagnostic, interventional, and laboratory procedures are performed with a vast array of high-quality equipment.
The equipment available at IRCCS ISMETT-UPMC allows the use of all the diagnostic and laboratory techniques required to assess and follow-up relevant clinical cases, and performance of high-specialty surgical and interventional procedures. At ISMETT, clinical and experimental research is also done thanks to equipment dedicated to scientific activity. The clinical governance system supports the clinical staff’s active participation in quality-control initiatives, providing the necessary tools and encouraging continual input, with special focus on appropriate care and patient safety. UPMC Hillman Cancer Center at San Pietro FBF and UPMC Hillman Cancer Center at Villa Maria are equipped with a latest generation linear accelerator and CT scan. 

Health care information technology

UPMC’s health care Information Technology (IT) team works with hospitals and health systems around the world to improve patient care and clinical research through technology. UPMC collaborate with his partners to develop and implement IT solutions that help doctors and nurses achieve better health outcomes by conveying important health information to the patient, aligning technological best practices with clinical needs, and optimizing research. Depending on his clients’ needs, UPMC experts customize, implement, and manage electronic systems that transform the way patient care is delivered. UPMC leverage the experience in Pittsburgh and around the world to provide an extensive range of services to manage complex IT systems, including assessment and strategic planning; assistance with hardware and software procurement; development of customized programs; data governance and analytics; and on-the-ground project management and technology support. UPMC has expertise in developing electronic medical record (EMR) systems focused on patient care. The process includes creating and implementing EMR systems, establishing governance, facilitating adoption and practicing informatics—the merging of systems with clinical medicine. At UPMC, every collaboration is a chance to provide solutions that make care more effective and more efficient, but also more human. Through collaboration with UPMC, the partners are positioned to improve patient care, reduce redundancies and errors, and promote real-time clinical decision support. UPMC also coordinate with large companies under contract and/or already operating information technology systems for health systems.
