Photodynamic therapy (PDT) dermatology has recently become one of the therapeutic protocols for degenerative diseases such as superficial basal cell epitheliomas, multiple actinic keratosis, and inflammatory diseases like juvenile or late acne or Lichen Planus, and diseases that still don’t have a specific treatment such as morphea, porokeratosis, necrobiosis lipoidica, granuloma annulare, etc.  PDT is also used in aesthetic medicine to reverse most of the damages caused by the sun, known as photoaging. Despite its curative potential in many fields of dermatology and aesthetics, and its safety, PDT is still little used and only available in a few qualified centers. For this reason, the primary objective of this event will be illustrate more in detail to health care providers the physical principle of the intracellular photodynamic reaction with the aminolevulinic Acid (ALA), serving as skin photosensitizer, and the practical applications in several dermatology conditions. In addition, the webinar’s aim is to present PDT as a valid, safe, and cost-effective alternative to the more expensive and demanding medical and surgical therapies commonly used.

The webinar is addressed to surgeons (all specializations), pharmacists, nurses, dentists, dental hygienists, and dental technicians.

The webinar is free for all participants and will be live streamed on Zoom. The official language is Italian.
